Trauma Informed Practices: Family and Community Engagement and Implicit Bias

Join CCDAA and WestEd for an interactive look at trauma and its impact on young children's learning and development through key modules from the Trauma-Informed Practices in Early Childhood Education (TIP-ECE) developed by WestEd. Understand how to use strategies that are sensitive to children who may have experienced trauma and that support the health, healing, resiliency, and well-being of these children. Participants will discover a wide range of trauma-informed practices that support relationship-building in the workplace, assist with developing family and community engagement strategies, and examine trauma through the lens of equity and social justice in order to better serve the children and families in their programs.

Speakers include
Julie Kurtz, Co-Director, Trauma Informed Practices in Early Childhood Education,  WestEd - Center for Child & Family Studies
