Q: Is CCDAA membership right for me?

A: The California Child Development Administrators Association (CCDAA) represents State and Federal funded child development programs. What does that mean? If you run a center-based, Head Start, Alternative Payment Program, Family Child Care Home Education Network, Local Planning Council, Resource and Referral, or any combination of these, we represent YOU! As a CCDAA member, you get access to the latest information, legislative updates, regulations, and more that impact your programs.

Q: I am already on CCDAA’s email list, what information am I missing out on that members get?

A: We have an extensive mailing list- if you are already receiving emails from us, you know that we provide information and updates on legislative hearings, trainings and professional development opportunities and regulatory changes from CDE. In addition to these emails, as a CCDAA member, you will get the detailed version of our legislative grid, as well as breaking news updates with legislative and budget analysis along with an explanation of how these changes will impact your program. These details, given exclusively to CCDAA members, are what help you plan for the ups and downs of running a successful child development program.

Q: What is the difference between a Regular\Comprehensive, Affiliate and Associate Membership?

A: An Affiliate Membership is directly linked to Regular\Comprehensive Memberships. Once the agency has at least one Regular\Comprehensive Member, an unlimited number of Affiliate Members can be added. Regular\Comprehensive
Members have full member benefits, including member discounts to CCDAA events, voting rights, the ability to serve on committees, sit on section boards and the state board. Affiliate Members receive similar benefits, however, they do not have the ability to vote or sit on the state board. An Associate member is separate from both Regular\Comprehensive and Affiliate. The Associate membership is provided to those in associated fields, including publicly funded agencies. Associate members also have benefits, not including the right to vote or serve as an officer.

If you have questions about which membership option is right for you, call our office and speak to one of our staff members, we’d love to hear from you!

Q: I used to have a CCDAA Individual Membership. How does my membership change?

A: If you had a CCDAA Individual Membership in the past, then your membership has not changed too much! The new membership available to you is the CCDAA Regular\Comprehensive Membership for $300. Unlike the Individual Membership, you are now able to add on additional staff in your agency as Affiliate Members for half the price of only $150! Q: I used to have a CCDAA Large Agency Membership. How does my membership change?

A: If you had a CCDAA Large Agency Membership, you can still add unlimited members, now with even more flexibility and per-member pricing. The only requirement is that the first member is a Regular\Comprehensive Member and you then have the ability to add as many Regular\Comprehensive Members ($300) or Affiliate Members ($150) as you would like. For example, if you would like to stay within the previous cost of $2,000, you would be able to add one Regular\Comprehensive Member at $300 and ten Affiliate Members at $150 each for a total of $1,800. You can also add six Regular\Comprehensive members for a total of $1800, or any other combination you see fit for your agency, as long as you meet the requirement of one Regular\Comprehensive membership.
